VANILLA COCONUT LAVENDER CREME BRULEE with VANILLA FLUER DE SAL

I know , a long name as ever but thats what it is (lots of) VANILLA COCONUT LAVENDER CREME BRULEE with a sprinkle of VANILLA SEA SALT on some and dotted with SALTED BUTTER on some.....
Like that Creme Brulee is a French word for what the English refer to as burnt cream..
Simple ingredients Milk , cream , eggs ,sugar and Vanilla come together to make this delicious dessert.
Never too much Vanilla.....


For this months recipe choice for Baking with Dorie GrapeFruit picked the Creme BRulee and aint we all glad she did.
We bake together once a month and would love u to join along too , come here  and lets bake all the wonderful goodies together , so much fun....

WARM ,HUGGY & GOOEY QUINTIPLE BROWNIES @ BWD


If you are looking for gooey , seriously chocolaty (though i dont think i know what that really means) brownies your in the right place , at the right page , on the right blog , at the right time....

I also so wish i could send u all some of these , but since we cant really do that , lets do the next best thing , talk all about the brownies so u can bake them right in ur kitchens and have the fantastically warm , heart tugging (cant decide if taste bud tugging sounded better ) soonnnn all to urself.

BUTTERY CRUNCHY LEMON VANILLA CORNMEAL SHORTBREAD COOKIES @ BWD

 Buttery and Crunchy together , specially in a shortbread spells pure Joy and happy smiles for me.
Specially more so if they happen to be in Shortbread.
Fair Warning , before ya says , oh no , lemme say , oh yes , there are hearts happening here yet again & i have my baking paraphernalia  to blame for that and happily so...

My fondness for shortbread shines with these and was enlivened when  Rivki  chose these for Baking along for our group Baking with Dorie with these....
Rubbing Zest into sugar , specially Vanilla sugar makes things even more fragrant and the addition of jus a hint of Almond extract , notches flavours to a delightful and heady love ...love for shortbread and all things shortbread.......

U MUST scoop out some butter as it beats with the sugar and the flavours , with the tip of ur little (or middle for dat matter , doesnt matter as long as u do it) , and indulge in how yummy it is and how good a Shortbread this one is going to be.
 And i must , must ,must talk about the crunch , the amazing crunch , that comes from the cornmeal , that also adds texture to the bite which is soo good and welcome.

RICOTTA POLENTA FIG CAKE with WINE HONEY FIG COMPOTE

Polenta has been on my mind, actually a longing on my heart ever since this Cherry cake.
If u have never baked with Polenta , u will love to discover the crunch and jus the right bite it adds to cakes and bakes.
 I dont know if its about the recipes or the Polenta , but whatever have baked with polenta to date has been moist and has had a bite full which i love.

Going straight to this cake , lemme tell u , its one of the very wonderful cakes i have baked and is just what u need with a pot of ur fav brewed coffee.


This is a dessert on its own , and i love it originates from a French magazine.

The addition of Ricotta , makes it even more special and endearing and the honey makes for a wonderful cake that ages beautifully.

Halving the recipe gave me 5 little tart cakes (yeah i cant keep away from all things heart too long ).

The differently textured compote is the perfect accompaniment to this cake, with or without a scoop of vanilla cream or icecream.

VANILLA SALTED BUTTERY BREAK UPS - A COOKIE for FFwD

If u have Butter ,Vanilla ,and Sel Gris( a goan one) added to flour , what else can u expect but deliciousness galore and lods of it.

Thats exactly what the Salted Butter Breaks ups that we are baking this week with FFwD , is all about , plus lods of fun.

I totally wanted to try these cut out too and at the same time didn wanna loose out on the fun of a large cookies that i could break out and dip with my coffee.(my fav current being Columbian coffee, which am sipping right now as i write).
The egg wash makes it so much easier to sprinkle some more salt , though i went the sprinkle way +  u can play around here , Lavender will be so so pretty , wouldn it ? 
Or maybe some saffron threads of Green sicilian Pistachios ?
Or jus ur fav salted nut , chopped jus the way u like it best?
Another thing i love about these is that they are nice and crispy around the edges and as u get closer to the center they tender with jus a bit of chew in them.

The smaller cookies baked crisp ,all the way thru though.
And its a very easy cookie too , u mix up and bring together the dough in a jiff , press and roll out into the thickness u want , refrigerate, paint egg wash n bake .

♥HEART BROWNIE BUTTONS @ BAKING W DORIE♥

 After these intensely gooey Brownies made their Debut here , u'd wanna think its raining brownies..well id love to think of it that way , but here's a birthday celebration.
And i think i should call these Super cuteeee+ super quick, one bowl , zesty , chocolaty ,light and  yummm, chocolate brownie babies.
Apparently , yes , i have not learnt the art of writing short and sweet yet, so please put up with my lonnng tittle's till then.

Super quick , coz all u do is melt the butter, chocolate and brown sugar in a pan , add vanilla and some zest rubbed vanilla sugar , when cooled stir in an egg, and fold in flour and bing, ur brownie batter is ready to bake and this is one delicious batter , but then i love to eat all sorts of batters , yeah me , the very me who really doesnt fancy raw eggs.
 I actually thought i'll bake them in a pan and then cut them out with my little heart cookie cutter , but then decided otherwise.
The lemon zest in there, is jus so light , yet a good addition.
Baking With Dorie , started by the wonderful ,GrapeFruit , is celebrating ,one year of baking thru , Baking from My home to yours , and im glad to be part of this small group and today celebrate one year of (not)baking with them.
 And no , i havent been for a year , but the few months i have been here , i have baked some wonderful goodies along with the gang.

These are the cutest brownies ever , i mean they are called brownie Buttons and thought the pics might not show it , they are tiny , half of my little finger , almost.
And i can't seem to resist hearts , vanilla and pink , besides other things so u have an overdose here too, with a Fair warning , lods of pics - step by step and finished babies.
 And they are a really good chocolaty snack to have , when those sweet pangs , strike after lunch , early evening , or night ...well for me they strike in the mornings and then i cant seem to get rid of the pangs thru out the day , i need something sweet and if its gooey and chocolaty ,all the better.

VANILLA CINNAMON HEARTY KISS "SQUARES"

The fragrance of Cinnamon with Vanilla is addictive , something u always want ur kitchens and homes to smell of.
I for one totally lovee having freshly grated cinnamon with my coffee everyday , a coffee aint exaclty to ''wake'' me up , its more for me to enjoy and love , and whenever i am baking i always brew some coffee, yeah and i have a new fav too:-) and something to keep the coffee warm ,but saving that for another post , ie the Loving this week posts which i so plan to post with a linky every wednesday/thursday!
Hope i do!
Back to these bars , they are chosen by my very dear pal Chaya , for thi weeks Bake @ Baking with Dorie , a small group , started by Grapefruit ,we are baking our way thru Baking from my home to urs...twice a month and with barely any rules.
Makes for a relaxed baking and posting, which is always an incentive!

I cannot resist baking hearts and i did so with these too :-), they are absolutely lovely with coffee or as a midnight snack...
Hearts of all sizes , with a dark chocolate Nutella topping....

I had a little disaster , that turned into a delicious treat , look below for details and pics:-)

A COFFEE BREAK WITH MUFFINS & CHERRY NUTELLA SWIRLS

Light and airy , and so very easy .....Oh Muffins these are ...Coffee break Muffins in a little coffee cup +minis....
Out of the oven , warm , with a nice smear of Nutella and topped with a cranberry and Macadamia and a sprinkle of cinnamon , these were jus in time for the coffee break.
OR maybe a Cinnamon Sprinkled Kiss...
Ok ok , i know u want both , i take both too...
Or maybe i want them ALL...
I am loving the muffin chapter in Baking w Dorie and GrapeFruit , the founder of this wonderful group , did better , by choosing this wonderful muffin.
These were good , right outa the oven , warm and fresh , jus right for ur coffee...Oh coffee..
That they come together really fast is another plus point...
 And here is a little Baby Muffin, all chocolaty and Pink..
Kisses and Muffins and Nutella....love the thought..

APPLE COCONUT HAZELNUT FAMILY CAKE @ DORIE

T'was finally my turn to chose the recipe for Baking with Dorie , ok not finallycoz i didn have to wait too long.
I didn know which week this would be when chosing this recipe , but now i think its perfect, coz after all the cookie baking here come a cake with Apple and coconut.
 Apples in everything make things good and apples in cake are as wonderful as they are ...

To add to this the recipe has coconut = lodsa moisture guaranteed, which i love.
 And ground nuts too....
